11:00am - How do we MIGU? (No, it's not a yoga position)
Presented by Nancy Good, Owner, Core Contemporary
Sponsored by CC Media
Coming from the philosophy that ALL people are artists in some form or another, Artist, Gallerist, and Curator Nancy Good invites us to develop a healthy MIGU (Motivation, Inspiration, and Getting Unstuck) practice in our creative pursuits, our relationships, and our day-to-day lives. From the simplicity of play to fearless (and ego-less) collaboration, Good gets us to laugh at our tendencies to applaud the dubious “Lone Wolf” badge of honor and other isolating patterns that hamper both our artistic growth and joy. Believing that we are better together and #ittakesavillage, Good's warmth and honest appreciation for the quirks of our species helps create a starting point for artistic (r)evolution of the most personal kind.
4:00pm - Reno Rising: Reno leaders address the past, dynamic current changes, and vision for the new Reno.
Sponsored by Dolan Auto Group
This panel discussion focuses on the importance of art and culture in building an environment that inspires meaningful growth for community, education, and desirable business development.
Participants: Hillary Schieve, Mayor of Reno, Tony Manfredi, Executive Director Nevada Arts Council, Mike Kazmierski Former CEO Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada, Emily Skyle-Golden Executive Director Cordillera International Film Festival, Professor Kari Barber, Award winning filmmaker, Graduate Director, Reynolds School of Journalism, University of Nevada, Reno
